New Web of Science search interface

Dear users,

Many of you might find out already that the new Web of Knowledge (WoK) search interface is different from before.

One thing I would like to remind you is to choose the right database before conducting searches.

Web of Science (WoS) is one of many databases USC subscribes through WoK, and in new search interface WoS is not the default database you are searching. If you didn’t choose a database before search, the best set of results might not be retrieved, especially if you were looking for cited reference search.

Here are right steps to follow.

After entering WoK search interface, please go to the tab of “select a database”, choose “Web of Science”, and then a new tab of “Web of Science” will pop up. Now you can conduct information search you are familiar with.

If you have questions, I am more than happy to do a demonstration for you one-to-one or through Ask_A_librarian night chat (Monday 7 – 9pm and Wednesday 6 – 8pm).

Happy Searching!
